Weihai National Hospital

Located in the Eastern New City of Weihai, Shandong Province, the project covers a site area of 29,400 square meters with a floor area ratio of 0.27. In light of the site’s unique conditions and the project’s positioning, the design adopts the typology of a contemporary Chinese courtyard to harmonize with the local cultural context and functional requirements. Notably, the health-and-wellness leisure cluster will provide ancillary elderly care and health services to support the subsequent 470-mu Weihai Yayuan development.

The design draws on traditional Chinese garden techniques such as framed views, borrowed scenery, and concealed vistas to create a richly layered, winding spatial experience characterized by deep, secluded courtyards and a seamless integration of residential and garden spaces. Within this setting, interior functions, user activities, and the external landscape are mutually interdependent and harmoniously unified.
