Hangzhou Jingjiang TOD

The Hangzhou Airport Express Line is a vital transportation corridor that will link Hangzhou West Railway Station with Xiaoshan International Airport in the future, and is scheduled to commence operations in tandem with the Asian Games in 2022. The design seeks to extend and interconnect the urban road network within the site, thereby minimizing the disruptive impact of the parking-and-station facility on the city’s fabric and ensuring seamless integration of the on-site road network with the broader urban context. This approach fosters an open, inclusive community, ensures that high-quality TOD development benefits the surrounding area, and drives regional growth. Grounded in full respect for the site’s existing ecological environment, the project leverages the central water system to create a smart, river-valley–themed public-amenity landscape along the waterfront, where architecture serves as the “mountain,” cultivating a symbiotic and harmonious relationship between landscape and built form.
