Shentangqiao Station

This project is located on the west side of the intersection of Wensan Road and Moganshan Road in Hangzhou, serving as the Shentangqiao Station on the Hangzhou Metro Airport Express Line. With an excellent transportation location, the station handles substantial passenger flows and serves as a prominent symbol of the city’s image. “Metro overbuild” and “transportation hub” entail more constraints. The key challenge of this project is how to strike a balance among urban retreat, spatial permeation, and dynamic interaction under these constraints. Technically, by thoughtfully repurposing the ventilation shafts, we maximize public space. The façade features a wind-tunnel curtain wall that turns a potential drawback into an advantage: the natural airflow generated by subway entry and exit is harnessed to maintain the dynamic, fluid effect of the curtain wall, achieving a harmonious integration of technology and form.
