Fengqi Chunlan Garden, Tongxiang

The project is located in Tongxiang, the core area of the Yangtze River Delta metropolitan cluster, 86 kilometers from Shanghai and 56 kilometers from Hangzhou. To build a future community that is “more convenient in services, more culturally diverse, and better governed,” the Fenghuang Lake subdistrict will be developed into a distinctive, vibrant new city that balances livability with workability and seamlessly integrates production, daily life, and ecology. The design incorporates thoughtful planning of pedestrian circulation and separation of pedestrian and vehicular flows to create a sense of ritual and formality within the community. At the same time, emphasis is placed on shaping streetscapes and public nodes to generate a cohesive yet dynamically varied “flowing landscape.” Individual building designs are carefully aligned with the site’s topography to offer residents a range of options, featuring diverse architectural typologies and apartment layouts as well as distinctive, aesthetically pleasing façade designs that convey the community’s high quality through rich detailing.
