Vanke Jinghu Exhibition Center

The project is located in Jinghu, Shaoxing. Fenglin West Road on the southern boundary of the site serves as a major urban thoroughfare and is subject to architectural-style regulations; to the north and west, the site abuts the Xiaoshan River with no direct access points. Consequently, all community amenities and secondary entrance spaces are concentrated along the eastern boundary.
This has resulted in a mix of functions and an inconsistent streetscape along the eastern façade; yet it also serves as the design starting point for this proposal. We have employed a single “grand roof” to unify all functions and materials, with both vehicular and pedestrian entrances seamlessly concealed beneath it. The eaves provide residents with a rain-free entryway, while introducing subtle twists and turns in certain commercial spaces to expand select transitional zones, thereby creating a vibrant neighborhood environment.
