Located in the Shuangpu district of Hangzhou, this project draws inspiration from the uncarved, royal-grade jade of ancient times, seamlessly blending regal elegance with rustic simplicity. It not only highlights the profound historical legacy and timeless traditional charm but also expresses a deep reverence for and admiration of nature’s beauty.
Hangzhou Puyu Qihu features a façade with a high stone-content, with the entire entrance tower standing approximately 8.8 meters tall and the combined width of the main entrance flanked by landscape walls exceeding 61.6 meters. The entrance forecourt unfolds gradually in the form of a “long scroll,” evoking an atmosphere of understated luxury and refined elegance that welcomes residents home with a sense of ceremonial grace. The roof adopts the classic Chinese architectural gable design, complemented by fluid lines and contemporary materials, resulting in an elegant and distinctive architectural expression that exudes timeless charm.
The architecture, landscape, and interiors of the entire project are mutually influential. The architectural design effectively embodies the interwoven spatial qualities of indoor and outdoor realms, enhancing the building’s sense of interaction while fostering a harmonious, layered relationship between architecture and landscape. Through the dynamic interplay of multiple spatial layers, the residential experience is elevated, allowing occupants to more profoundly savor the pleasure and relaxation of “returning to nature.”
