Binjiang Baima Lake Hotel

The Binjiang Baima Lake Hotel project is located in the Baima Lake area of Hangzhou’s Binjiang District. The hotel is positioned as a high-end business conference hotel catering to corporate clients in Binjiang and to attendees of various industry-related events in the Baima Lake vicinity. The master plan is organized around two orthogonal axes and a series of sequentially entered courtyards, with the overall layout divided into three distinct building clusters: dining and banquet facilities, centralized guest rooms, and villa accommodations. The buildings are enveloped by courtyards, with garden design integrated into the courtyard layout to create a three-tiered, themed courtyard sequence. These courtyards overlap and layer one upon another, generating a rich sense of ritual and formality. The architecture draws on scale and typology to convey the essence of traditional Chinese courtyard groupings, while employing contemporary interpretations of traditional Chinese materials, detailing, and construction techniques to enhance the quality of the spatial experience and the sense of place.
